Magazines & Newspapers

A variety of newspapers and magazines are available at each library and on the bookmobile. The Columbia library has a wide range of current magazines plus newspapers from around the state and select major U.S. cities on the third floor mezzanine. Current issues are available for browsing and one year of back issues for most magazines and comics can be checked out, limit 5 items per check-out.

In the Columbia library, you'll also find magazine collections for children and teens in their respective areas. The back issues are available for check-out.

You can also find and read articles in hundreds of magazines online with EBSCO and other databases to which the library subscribes.

Newspapers on Microfilm

The library has a collection of newspaper microfilms which may be accessed any time the library is open. Staff will do limited searching for articles and obituaries if specific information is provided (e.g. an exact date of death for obituary records). List of available newspaper microfilms.
